Biking Trip to Vrindavan & Agra - 5th May,2011

It was the end of winters in Feb 2011 and the day that we dreamt for was not far now. The four of us (Akshay, Prateek, Ashish and me) were really bored with our usual life: getting up in the morning, going to office, working 9 and half hours and then back to home, have dinner and then sleep. So we decided to do something special and as we all were bike freaks we ended up deciding that we will go to Vrindavan and Agra by our bikes.

The historic date was 5th March 2011, we got up at 4am in the morning and found it to be a foggy morning and the visibility was hardly 15mts, but even that could not lower down our enthusiasm for the trip. With all our things set in place, our machines ready and the men ready, we left at around 5:30am from Mahipalpur and took The MB Road to cross Faridabad. We had a Pulsar 150 Dtsi, CBZ Extreme and Discover 135 Dtsi.

Leaving from Mahipalpur: Akshay, Prateek, Ashish and Herdeep (L to R)

We took our first tea break at 7:30am after crossing Faridabad and we had tea with some namkeen, cream rolls. Nothing is complete without pics so we had a quick photo session and started again at 8am.

Still now it was foggy and our jackets were almost wet. So we decided to stop for our breakfast as Akshay was really hungry. After crossing Palwal we stopped at Radhey Shyam family dhaba and ordered Aloo, gobhi, paneer paranthas, curd and tea. The food was good but seemed to be overpriced.

It was time to move on and after 1 hour of heavy breakfast we moved on. We drove continuously for an hour and as usual stopped again for a photo session. After 15 min. we again started and then stopped only after reaching Vrindavan at around 11:30am. We finally got a room in an ashram and then we relaxed for a while, had bath and went out for lunch. After having lunch, we took a guide and he showed us the various temples and tourists spots of Vrindavan. We first visited Nidhivan and then in the evening we went for Banke Bihari and Isckon temple.

After that we also had a nice drive and excavated the whole of Vrindavan on bikes. On the way we visited Mata Vaishno Devi temple also.  In the night around 8 pm we buyed some gifts from Vrindavan Market. We slept around 11 pm so as to wake up early in the morning the next day as we had to go to Agra.

6th MARCH 2011:

We woke up at 5am and were ready to move ahead. By 6am we had completed our tea and were on the main highway again to AGRA.

We reached Agra in about 1.5Hrs and had puri sabji for our breakfast. We visited the Akbar’s Tomb first and were really touched by the beauty of the place.

From here we headed towards the “TAJ MAHAL”. We reached Taj in half an hour and to our surprise found thousands of people standing in lines to enter the TAJ. We hired a guide again and paid him to get us inside quickly as we were short of time. We were inside in another half an hour. All 4 of us were really enjoying ourselves, the Taj was standing tall in front of us and we couldn’t take off our eyes from it. Absolutely awesome piece of architecture. We clicked many pics and made videos of the TAJ.

Now we had to drive back to delhi. After buying some pethas from Panchi Petha we started for delhi at 2:30pm. We took our lunch at 4pm in Mathura. We started at 5pm again and then we drove continuously for 100kms and our speed was not less than 70kmph throughout. We had our tea break at  hodal and from there we came non-stop to delhi and reached by 8:30pm.

On the way back we remembered these 2 days we spent and the fun we had. We all will remember this awesome trip of ours…..This is just the beginning many more to come……..

I also want to share some videos which we made on our way to Vrindavan.

  1. Well Well, the thrill of this adventurous trip can be felt only by those, whose heart doesn’t only beat but thumbs like bike engine. Friends, Freedom and the Open Road is just the combination to Live Life King Size.. As Bryan Adams sang:
"I’m rolling on and on and on
    who knows where I’m going'?
life is an open road - it's the best story never told
it's an endless sky – it's the deepest sea
life is an open road to me"
